Gary McCune

Founder/CFO

Gary McCune began his trajectory for leadership at a young age, starting with serving as high school senior class president, student council, and as a football letterman. He went on in college to serve on the Inter-Fraternity Council, as Executive Director of the OSU fraternity system, as well as Student Senator.

After college, Gary’s professional accomplishments include 50 years as Camco Home Improvement President - Camco has been recognized as Stillwater’s Family Business of the Year. He also served with Oklahoma State Homebuilders (Northwest area VP) receiving Oklahoma’s Remodeler of the Year in 2016. He served as board chair of the Stillwater Home Builders Association and started the Stillwater Home and Garden Show, which has given back to local charities and organizations over $1 million since its beginning.

Gary also served in the political realm as the Payne County Republican chair for 6 years, during which time the majority registration of the county went from Democrat to Republican and elected Republicans to all local county offices. He was the Senate District 21 Republican nominee for state senate for ‘88 and ’92.

​

In the community, Gary served on the Central Rural Electric Cooperative board for 18 years, chairman for 6 years, helped design and build their new headquarters building, and brought ‘fiber to the home’ internet to all CREC members. He also served as a steering committee member on the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives board, a state association board chair with 60 board members and over 450,000 members. Gary was the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Credential Cooperative Director, Board Leadership Certification and Directors Gold Certification, chosen as one of twelve directors from all cooperatives across the nation to serve on the inaugural Directors National Advisory Board. He served 6 years as board chairman of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce during which time Commerce Place was developed for Stillwater’s future economic growth.

Gary has been married to Yolanda McCune for 50+ years and has three sons - Ty, Tray, and Tekon (deceased). They are blessed with 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

​

Gary currently serves on the infrastructure and economic development committee as well as serving on the Dimensions Center Leadership team and as the Dimensions Center Finance chair.
